Multimedia Victoria

  • Evaluation of the Skills.net Roadshow program which provides introductory Internet training for disadvantaged groups throughout Victoria. This evaluation involves use of online and mail-out surveys, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, focus groups and the development of selected case studies.
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of the VicIT online database of IT businesses in Victoria. VicIT is designed to attract investment in the Victorian IT industry and to facilitate the development of partnerships between local IT businesses. This evaluation involved an online survey with businesses and interviews with key stakeholders.
  • An evaluation of the Regional Connectivity Project with a focus on six Community Enterprise Centres established in towns in western Victoria. This project was designed to encourage new businesses, assist existing business and support the community in using information and communication technologies (ICT).
  • An evaluation of the effectiveness of the Victorian E-Commerce Early Mover Assistance Scheme (VEEM) that targeted local government and business.
  • An evaluation of an Internet training program - Online Vision Skills.net - for people with impaired vision. This Skills.net training program was conducted by Vision Australia.
  • An evaluation of the Skills.net Program. Skills.net delivers training to the community in how to use the Internet. This evaluation involved extensive consultation with a variety of key stakeholders and will use a range of techniques, including focus groups, interviews, online surveys and written questionnaires.
  • An evaluation of the effectiveness of the My Connected Community Pilot Program. My Connected Community involves provision of a web-based facility for use by community groups to enhance communication. The evaluation included the effectiveness of training programs, support and the web-based facilities and the development of recommendations for future expansion of the program.

 

Department of Human Services

  • Evaluation of the Kids Go For Your Life program. This statewide initiative is designed to improve nutrition and increase physical activity in children through education of parents/carers and children themselves. The large-scale evaluation is due for completion in late 2007 and uses a wide variety of methodologies, including surveys, interviews, focus groups and key document analysis.

 

Department of Infrastructure

  • Evaluation of the TravelSmart Curriculum Program over two phases of development. This program was designed to reduce car use in primary school aged children and their families. This involved colection of data on travel by students and their familes, parent/carer surveys and consultation with teachers.

 

RoadSafe Groups

  • Evaluation of the Wyndham Fit to Drive program. This program is being offered to year 11 students in secondary schools throughout the City of Wyndham and is designed to improve young driver safety. The evaluation involves surveys of participants before and after the program.
  • Evaluation of a practical motorcycle training program developed and delivered by Honda Australia Rider Training (HART). This program is designed to reduce motorcycle crashes particularly along the Great Ocean Road . The evaluation involved a review of the program against best proactice and research in the field and surveys of participants.

 

RACV

  • Conducted an evaluation of the RACV road safety education programs for schools and developed key recommendations for future directions, which have since been adopted. The evaluation involved use of face-to-face and telephone interviews and focus group discussions with teachers, RACV personnel - including senior managers, road safety education staff and driving instructors - and representatives from key road safety organisations in Victoria and interstate.

 

VicRoads

  • Undertook a review of traffic safety education resources and programs offered by VicRoads. This involved surveys and focus groups with a range of key stakeholders, including teachers in selected primary and secondary schools across Victoria .
  • Engaged by the Human Resources Department to conduct and report on an online survey of VicRoads staff on the implementation of the Performance Management Scheme. Also conducted a series of focus groups with staff across the organisation on the reaction to a new career development program.
  • Development of a guide to evaluating road safety programs and professional development module on evaluation of road safety programs. Evaluation workshops have been delivered on an ongoing basis as part of the VicRoads Road Safety Professional Development Program.

 

Shire of Nillumbik

  • Engaged to conduct and analyse customer satisfaction surveys for different business areas within the Council.
  • Analysis of and reporting on the results of a survey of residents on transport related projects in the shire.
  • Undertook a learner needs analysis for the Shire of Nillumbik Living and Learning Centres based in Eltham and Panton Hill. This learner needs analysis involves use of a range of data collection methods.

Australian Road Research Board

  • Worked in Thailand and Australia on an Asian Development Bank funded program to implement road safety education programs in both primary and secondary programs nationally. This included the design of evaluation tools for determining the effectiveness of training and curriculum materials.

 

RMIT University

  • Undertook an evaluation of online and CD-ROM based courseware for delivery through the LearnLinks partnership between RMIT University and community learning centres.


Adult, Community and Further Education (Department of Education and Training)

  • Conducted an evaluation of a regionally based professional development program designed to skill teachers in the online delivery techniques. The evaluation used a range of focus groups with participants and survey questionnaires.
